Staying safe on Servd

Last updated 22 October 2026

Servd is an open marketplace of independent providers. We do some checks for you, and a few simple habits do the rest.

What we do

  • Every provider uploads a government ID and verifies a Nigerian bank account in their own name before our team approves them.
  • Your payment is held by Servd until the job is done, and refunded in full if the provider declines or doesn't answer.
  • Reviews come only from clients who actually booked.
  • Phone numbers and exact addresses are shared only after the provider accepts.
  • Some providers carry the Servd Verified badge (see below).
  • Anyone can report a problem on a booking, and our team can read the booking messages to settle it.

We don't carry out criminal record checks, and we don't supervise jobs. Booking a provider is your decision.

What "Servd Verified" means

The Servd Verified badge means someone from our team has met the provider in person, confirmed they match their ID and profile photo, and seen their work or tested their service. It is an extra check on top of the ID and bank checks every provider passes.

The badge is not a guarantee. Verified providers are still independent, not Servd staff, and everything in our terms still applies. We remove the badge if we receive serious complaints.

Tips for clients

  • Pay only on Servd. If a provider asks you to pay them directly or to book outside Servd, don't, and tell us.
  • Read the provider's reviews and package description before you book.
  • Use the booking messages to agree the details: what's included, what they'll bring, and how to find your home.
  • Check that the person who arrives matches the name and photo on their profile.
  • If you can, have someone else at home, or let a friend know who is coming and when.
  • Put away cash, jewellery and other valuables before the job.
  • Massage on Servd is strictly non-sexual. Don't ask for anything else.

Tips for providers

  • Keep every booking and payment on Servd; that's what protects your pay.
  • Use the booking messages to confirm the address, time and what the client expects.
  • Tell someone where you're going and when you expect to finish.
  • You can decline a job, and you can leave a job if you feel unsafe. Report it to us.

If something goes wrong

  • In an emergency, call 112, Nigeria's emergency number.
  • Use "Report a problem" on the booking. The payment stays on hold while we look into it.
  • Or message our team on the Help and support page.
