Provider terms and code of conduct

Last updated 22 October 2026

These terms apply if you offer services on Servd as a private chef, massage therapist or cleaner. They come on top of our general terms of use. You agree to them when you submit your application.

1. You work for yourself

You are an independent, self-employed professional. You are not an employee, agent or partner of Servd, and nothing on Servd creates an employment relationship. You choose whether to list your services, which jobs to accept, your packages and your prices, and how you do the work. You can work for other people and on other platforms.

You are responsible for your own tools, supplies, transport, taxes and any licences or permits your work needs.

2. Applying and staying approved

  • Use your real name and a clear, recent photo of yourself. Upload a valid government ID.
  • Use a Nigerian bank account in your own name. Payouts only go to that account.
  • Describe your services and packages honestly, including what you bring and what you don't.
  • You work in one state, chosen when you apply. To move, contact us.
  • We may invite you to meet our team so we can check your work. If you pass, your profile shows the Servd Verified badge. We can remove the badge at any time, for example after serious complaints.
  • We may reject an application, or pause or remove an account, if information is false, these terms are broken, or clients report serious problems.

3. Bookings

  • When a client books and pays, you have a set time to accept or decline (currently 24 hours, or less if the job starts sooner). If you don't answer in time, the client is refunded.
  • Once you accept, turn up on time and do the job as described in the package. If something stops you, message the client on the booking straight away and contact our support team.
  • Repeated late cancellations or no-shows can get your account paused.
  • You can decline any job, and you can leave a job if you feel unsafe. Tell us when that happens.

4. Money

  • Clients pay Servd, not you. We hold the payment while the booking is open.
  • Servd keeps a commission on your package price (currently 15%). You see what you'll receive on each package before you publish it. If the rate changes, we'll tell you before it applies to new bookings.
  • After the job, mark it done. Your payment is released when the client confirms, or automatically after the release time (currently 48 hours) if the client has not reported a problem. It is sent to your bank account through Paystack.
  • Chefs: the ingredient budget on your package is sent to you in full as soon as you accept, so you can shop. It must be spent on that client's ingredients. If the job doesn't go ahead, our team will work out with you and the client what happens to that money.
  • If a problem is reported, payment is held until our team decides. We look at what both sides tell us and the booking messages, and we may pay you in full, refund the client, or split the amount. Our decision on the money held for that booking is final.

5. Code of conduct

  • Arrive on time. If you can't make it, tell the client and us as early as possible.
  • Do the job described in the package, at the listed price. No extra charges outside Servd.
  • Never ask a client to pay you, or to book you, outside Servd. Don't use a client's details for anything other than their booking.
  • Respect the client's home, family, privacy and belongings. Don't take photos or videos in a client's home without their permission.
  • No alcohol or drugs before or during a job.
  • No harassment, threats, insults or discrimination of any kind.
  • Massage is strictly therapeutic and non-sexual. End any session where a client asks for sexual services, and report it to us.
  • Keep booking messages respectful and about the job.

Breaking the code of conduct can get your account removed, and serious cases may be reported to the authorities.

6. Your responsibility

You are responsible for the work you do and for any damage, loss or injury you cause during a job. Servd is not responsible for your acts or omissions.

7. Reviews and your profile

Clients who booked you can leave a rating and review. You can't remove reviews, but tell us if a review breaks our rules. We may show your public profile in search results and share it to promote Servd.

8. Agencies and businesses

If you apply as an agency or business, these terms apply to your business and to everyone you list on your team. In addition:

  • Your team members work for you, not for Servd. You are responsible for hiring them, paying them, their conduct and their work, and for any damage, loss or injury they cause.
  • Only list real people who actually work for you, with their permission to show their name and photo. Upload each person's government ID. Each new person, and any change to a person's name, photo, ID or service, is checked by our team before clients can see it.
  • Send the person the client booked or asked for. If they can't go, choose someone else on your approved team for that service and tell the client on the booking before the job.
  • Make sure everyone you send follows the code of conduct. Breaking it can get the person removed, or your whole agency suspended.
  • Payouts go to the bank account you add for the business. Paying your staff is your responsibility.

9. Leaving

You can stop taking bookings at any time by hiding your packages, and you can ask us to close your account. Jobs you have already accepted must be completed or settled first.
