How chef pricing works on Servd
- Each chef sets their own packages, for example "Dinner for 6" or "Weekly meal prep for a family of 4"
- A chef package can include an ingredient budget on top of the cooking fee, shown separately before you pay
- The ingredient budget goes to the chef as soon as they accept, so they can shop
- The cooking fee is held until after the job and released when you confirm
Tips for a smooth booking
- Tell the chef the number of guests and any allergies in the booking notes
- Mention what your kitchen has: oven, gas or electric cooker, enough pots
- Book at least a day ahead for parties so the chef can plan and shop
How booking works
Pick a private chef and a package, choose a time, and pay through Servd. The private chef accepts, you get their phone number, and the job gets done. Your payment is released to them when you confirm, or held if you report a problem. More about how it works.
Questions
When does the provider get paid?
You pay when you book, and Servd holds the money. The provider is paid when you tap "Confirm" after the job, or automatically 48 hours after they mark the job done if you have not reported a problem.
How do refunds work?
If the provider declines, does not answer in time, or you cancel before they accept, you get a full refund automatically. Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with through Paystack, and usually reach you within a few working days depending on your bank.
How are providers checked?
Every provider uploads a government ID, verifies a Nigerian bank account in their own name, and agrees to our code of conduct. Our team reviews each application before the provider appears on the site.
Why can't I find a provider in my state?
We are signing up and checking providers state by state. If nobody in your state is taking bookings yet for the service you need, leave your email or phone on the booking page and we will tell you as soon as providers join.
Can I book a cleaner or chef every week?
Yes. When you book, choose how often: daily, weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly, and how many visits. You pay for all the visits at once, many providers give a discount for repeat bookings, and each visit's payment is held until that visit is done. You can stop the plan any time: visits more than 48 hours away are refunded in full.
Do the providers work for Servd?
No. Servd is an open marketplace. Providers are independent, self-employed people who list their own services and set their own prices. We check their ID and bank account before they appear, and we hold your payment until the job is done, but you choose who to book at your own risk. Read our safety tips before you book.
